Mr. Gobinda Gopal Mitra, ACMA, is a Certified Cost & Management Accountant from the Indian Cost Account Service (ICoAS). He retired from public service as Chief Cost Advisor (Retd.) at the Tariff Commission, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Central Government of India, back in 2021, after an extensive career in public service spanning over 35+ years. His experience includes (i) key roles in cost, management, and financial accounting across medium to large manufacturing and mining industries in sectors such as power, pharmaceuticals, iron ore, and warships, within both private and public sector organizations, and (ii) significant contributions to regulatory and cost accounting functions within various Ministries and Departments of the Government of India, focusing on pharmaceutical pricing and monitoring, anti-dumping investigations, cost determination of regulated products (including fertilizers and petroleum products), and the analysis of cost audit reports and data.

Beyond his professional career working with private businesses and government service, he has over four years of teaching experience at Maharaja Manindra Chandra College, a prominent undergraduate college affiliated with the University of Calcutta, as well as more than 18 months of teaching postgraduate business studies at Jaypee Business School under Jaypee Institute of Information Technology, Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
